Don't like what your seeing, let's question our elected leaders. When's the last time one of them spoke with you about their job other when they wanted your vote? This website can be the beginning a check-and-balance government.

I was told Council can spend $25,000.00 on services that are not budgeted without getting quotes.

Council has not posted a budget or actual financials for the residents to see for 2009. I was told the 2010 budget was approved, we will be requesting that for posting on this site.

Lets have a posting on the Village website giving us a status report on any pending litigation. All complaints and filings will be posted on "this" website soon. If council is being sued for something they've done that our Insurance will not defend the individual members should hire thier own private council to defend themselves. The village attorney should not answer any complaint on their 'individually" behalf. H-O.com is looking into this matter.

I believe Mr. Barlos was a good investment, lets find a replacement.

Lets reduce taxes and slow down our growth. The village is ran like the School system. The village buys, builds or aquires new assets that cost tax dollars to maintain. If we get to a point where we can't afford to maintain these assets our buget will go into the red.

In my opinion the Mayor is a "spaver'. His policy seems to be that if the state is paying for some of the cost the Village should build/fix it. A "spaver' is a consumer that thinks we must spend money if it's a good deal even if we don't need it. The mayor was quoted as saying "all most free". Who does he think state and federal tax dollars come from? Duh, tax payers.

Holland-Ohio.com will be requesting financial reposrts from the village and reviewing income/expense statements along with the budget for 2010. Holland-Ohio.com will ask past and present elected officials their opinion on policy and proceedures the Village follows. You might be surprised that to find out that something your upset about is perfectly logical. You must hear the otherside of the issue. So lets look forward, hope for some answers and change what we don't like.
